Music Makers offers a number of group lessons and
classes where students engage in a musical experience
that is fun and creative in an informal,
non-competitive atmosphere.
Group Keyboard Classes for Children serve as
introduction-to-piano courses and are offered for two
different age groups. Group piano classes are a fun,
interactive way for young children to be exposed to
beginning musical concepts in an active and social
environment. No prior experience is necessary.
Students need a keyboard or piano for home practice.
Group Voice Classes are offered for beginning
singers focusing on building a strong foundation of
musicianship and vocal technique. No prior singing
experience is necessary.
Group Guitar Classes will expose students to
the fundamentals of guitar playing. Students will be
introduced to music reading, chord symbols, and
fingerpicking techniques.
Group Violin Classes are supplemental classes.
All students enrolled in these classes must have
one-year experience in private
lessons. Music Makers students who are enrolled
in both private and group violin classes during the
same semester will receive a 10% discount on their
total tuition.
History of Drumming: Style and Interpretation
classes focus on drumming in various genres of music
from jazz to rock to hip hop, as well as the
drummers/percussionists that have made a tremendous
impact in all of the diverse areas of music. Students
will learn different styles and techniques and how to
apply them.
The following classes are currently offered (students
may enroll at any time during the session; fees will
be prorated):
