At Music Makers, we understand that life happens and that sometimes lessons need to be missed. In order to be eligible for make-up lessons, students must provide notice in advance of their absence. For weekday absences, notice must be provided no later than midnight the night before the lesson, and for weekend absences notice must be provided at least 24 hours in advance. For same-day cancellations or no-shows, students are not eligible for make-ups. Some teachers will approve a make-up in certain circumstances, but these situations are handled on a case-by-case basis.
When students provide notice of a planned absence, that slot becomes a make-up which other students can then sign up for. For that reason, our make-up lesson availability changes continually! When seeking a make-up lesson we recommend checking in frequently with the office as new make-up slots are added as often as students cancel. In some cases, we may even be able to accommodate a same-day make-up if a teacher happens to have a slot still available in their teaching day. As a reminder, make-ups do not need to be completed with your same teacher, but may be completed with any teacher of your instrument. PLEASE NOTE: If after cancelling a lesson you find that you actually CAN come at your normal time, please contact the office ASAP to see if your slot is still available. If we have already given it as a make up slot, we will need to honor your original request to cancel and provide the make up for the other student. Students have six months from the date of the missed lesson to complete any outstanding make-ups.
If you have questions or would like to inquire about a make-up time, please give us a call or send us a text at 708-246-8222.
